Should I buy a macbook pro 2012 laptop?

I myself am a programmer and a connoisseur of laptop design. I would like to take a laptop for a good and stable work. I want programs like Pycharm to work stably without lags. The laptop is purely for work, games are not needed. I myself do not understand the hardware well, I would like to ask experienced people.
Should I buy this laptop macbook pro 2012:
core i7 hdd 750 RAM 4gb display 15.2
The computer itself has RAM 4gb i3 processor, I would like to take a more powerful laptop than my computer for about 3-4 years. Such a question, will this macbook pro 2012 laptop last me so many years 3-4?
There are such opportunities on this laptop to replace RAM plus 4gb, or replace 4gb with a single line of 8gb.
Would it be possible to insert an SSD drive there or something like that?
Laptop BU ask for $500

Solved the problem, there were 2 of them:
1 - I did not start the server correctly, just through cd .. , because of this, when the Internet connection was lost or the console was closed, the server turned off
Solution: launched through screen
2 - There was a cron job that rebooted the server
Solution: Remove cron job

I have a Pro 2012, NOT a retina.
What are the advantages:
- I myself expanded the memory up to 16 GB (it is possible up to 32, it allows, but I squeezed the money :))
- I put optibay instead of DVD and rearranged the regular HDD there.
- I put an SSD in place of the regular HDD
- I assembled the SSD and HDD in FusionDrive
- I update the OS all the time to the latest one.
All that is often launched - flies. All that is rare - is loaded from the HDD.
If nothing in the world of software changes, it will work for another 5 years in the same mode. ;)
And well, I forgot the main thing:
!!! If I were you, I would take 13. Same benefits, only lighter in weight.

Yes, it's worth it! Only not second-hand, yes it is possible and second-hand. I myself bought a similar one last year, though i5, 8GB, 500GB. SSD is installed easily in terms of performance, it practically does not differ from the wife's laptop (MacBook Air i3).
You can safely work with 1-2 virtual machines under VMWare Fusion.
Just for development.
Yes, to the question - how long will it last? The previous macbook white unibody Core2Duo is right now on the table. 2009 release. The battery still holds about an hour. It's like I'm moving from it :-D Half a year in a row.
