Shared Folders in Virtualbox (Linux + Windows)

Just started working with Virtualbox, installed a Windows XP virtual machine. And that's all for now.
Now I need to run the program in Windows (the executable file is in a folder in Linux). Made this folder public (gave Windows full access rights to the folder). But now, when starting the virtual machine, I cannot see this folder from under Windows.

How can I get the executable from this folder? You can poke your nose at a link to some good site with detailed instructions.

PS Do not offer options related to receiving a file via the network - the computer is not connected to the network.

PPS
Main OS: Ubuntu Linux 10.10
Virtual Machine OS: Windows XP Home.

There is such a word: help. This, of course, is surprising, but it has it.

Do you have the "Auto-mount" checkbox in your shared folder settings? The folder should appear in File Explorer where "Drive C:" is.
You may also not need Guest Additions, in order to install them - boot into the virtual machine and press Host + d (you can find the corresponding item in the virtual machine menu). After that reboot.

Something like that.

Do not offer options related to receiving a file via the network - the computer is not connected to the network.
The presence of a network on a computer does not affect the ability to configure a network in a virtual machine. You can arrange everything so that the host computer and the virtual machine will look like ordinary network computers to each other, no connection to a real network is absolutely required for this.

So at some stage the folder was visible in Windows or not? I remember the shared folder does not rise in 1 click. In addition to setting it up there, you need to connect it somewhere. Look in the drop-down menus. Wait, there is no virtualbox at hand, unfortunately I can’t check it myself. Yes, and it was a long time ago, maybe everything is not so, but if there is nothing more ...

Computer Always online (Whether it is a network or not is another question.)
You may have a local network, one is a host, the second is a guest Axis.
