I can’t remember the name of the service website where you could download subtitles from a movie or series, and, depending on your knowledge of English, the service produced a new subtitle file, where there were only a few words, to which the translation was immediately written. Those. the service needed to indicate the level of language proficiency and it processed the subtitles depending on your request - leaving the rarest and most likely unfamiliar words if the level is above average.
There was an article about this on Habré a few years ago, it began with an introduction like: "the teacher forbade watching films with subtitles in the classroom, she said that this is how we learn to read subtitles, and not listen to speech."

1. Download the captions and write out all unfamiliar words from them
2. Watch the movie (without captions) and try to write down what you heard on the sheet (you can review it several times)
3. Turn on the subs and check

Profit is incredible from such an activity. The film, of course, is not to be watched in its entirety, as well as to disassemble the subs, but simply take 3-4 minutes. I listened to each replica and wrote it out, and then checked it.
