SEO - What to choose for a directory on different topics: subdomains or folders (directories)?
Hello.
I have a certain amount of unique information on completely different topics (5-10 topics). I believe that this information can be useful to many people.
I want to put it on the Internet, in the form of several large articles (long reads). Some of them I plan to translate into English. In the future, I may want to add advertising to the site, at least so that the hosting pays off.
Question.
How best to organize the structure of the site in terms of SEO:
- One subdomain per topic: some-topic.my-site.com
- All on one domain: my-site.com/some-topic
Thank you!

Search engines define a subdomain as separate sites. Therefore, if a lot of articles are planned for each topic, then it is better to make subdomains: you get several sites with different topics, thanks to which search engines will better index each individual subdomain. This, in turn, will help them to give your site to users interested in this particular topic. Plus, advertising can also be hung appropriate in context, which will increase income.
If there are few articles on each topic: for example, only 3-4 pieces per topic, then do everything on one site.
