SEO: Should individual blogs be placed on a 3rd level subdomain?

Hello!
There is a site built on the basis of a blogging system. Each blog individually represents a unique thematic focus. In terms of promotion in search engines: is it worth moving blogs to 3-level subdomains?
For example:
The current version of the link structure:

  1. site.ru/programming
  2. site.ru/medicine

Option under consideration:
  1. programming.site.ru
  2. medicine.site.ru

Goal: The desire that each blog individually be presented in the search engine results. For example, if the user enters the query “programming”, then he will be given a direct link directly to the blog.
p.s. link structure probably doesn't matter at all. We have examples from wiki and Habra, where sections on the second level lie and are separately presented in the search. What do you think?

Blogs on Habré:
Option to consider:
Probably, this is not important for such a significant resource. But how much is needed for new projects?

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that search engines consider subdomains separate from the main site.
In my opinion, the frequency of a subdomain, say about programming, will be higher in the search for programming
than if all blogs were in subdirectories, and the overall frequency of the entire site would be "diluted" with the content of neighboring blogs.
And for large sites, I think, search engines independently divide them into sections, for the convenience of indexing, because. so it's easier to " digest " a large amount of information.
