Search in Bitrix: is there a limit on the number of characters?

I received one site on Bitrix in support, with which (with Bitrix) I did not work so much.
They have a search on the site by part of the word, but only if it is 4 characters or more, and dots are not considered as a character (for example, five characters, of which 2 dots - this is considered 3 characters).
Is this a common thing waiting for Bitrix, or not? I can't find it anywhere in the settings, I can't see it in the script code either. In general, according to the logic of the Bitrix device, where should one look for this?

@garinov

1) at the js level in the form. Perhaps there is a validation before sending, so as not to pull the server. Look for onsubmit / onclick events on buttons. At the same time, check if anything is sent without validation to the server.
2) at the search script level, in the initial code processing.
