Search from address bar in firefox
Hello! Recently (2-3 updates ago, approximately version 23 of the fox) the search behavior from the address bar has changed - now the request goes not to the default search engine specified in about:config, but to the one selected in the additional search string (which is located to the right of the address). Those. earlier I had 2 search engines available in one click, and now in two fields - the same one. Searching for the word search in about:config didn't turn up anything useful.

browser.fixup.alternate.enabled should be set to false, keyword.enabled should be set to true
Better yet, learn to use keywords for search engines. Open the settings of the list of search engines from the drop-down menu in the search bar, select the desired search engine, click the Edit Keyword button (I have an English fox, edit the keyword?). In the window that appears, give the search engine some short name of 1-3 letters. For example, g for google, gi for google images, and w for wikipedia. Now if you type a word in the address bar g, then the specified word will always be searched in google, and if w is a word, in wiki. Well, gi word - a search for images on google images will be performed.
