Samsung r538 dt02ua RAM 4 GB (1600 mhz), not supported?

There is a Samsung r538 dt02ua laptop. Core i 3 380 M. Supports 4 GB of RAM with one bar, there were 4 and 2 both at 1066 mhz, pulled out both - I put 4 GB 1600 mhz goes into reboot. The memory is working, it works on other laptops. It seems that it should work at a reduced frequency? Or the controller in this laptop "does not know how to downgrade" only at 1066? I can't find a way to change the timings in bios. What can be done in such cases? Well, except to replace it with another bar.

I would run a memtest and see what timings and frequency it started. Then you can try to look at what is written in the specs for memory. Although this is pointless if the BIOS does not have the appropriate settings. So only for peace of mind.

how many chips on a 4gb stick - 16 or 8?
with 8 will not work, they are high capacity.
