Samba, how to make homes public?
Good day to all.
There is a server with debian and samba on board, you need to transfer data from another server, but the [homes] folder does not become public without a password and the path cannot be changed, as it was on another server. There is no way to view the config on the first server, there is no root password, and I don’t know what axis it is either.
The previous admin or whoever was here shared the homes folder without a password and you can get into it without stumbling. People keep everything there, both important and public, etc. Therefore, access should be free.
Thanks everyone

Take and create a separate directory, on a separate disk partition, or even better on a separate disk, and already fumble it for Guest, without passwords and appearances.
But this line does not fit with the concept of data security at all
If I were you, I would teach people to remember and enter passwords, in the mode that you are trying to file now, you risk losing all data, all users, just if someone picks up a more or less reasonable malware.
And then some kind of illiterate user "oops, I pressed something and everything was gone" and will delete all the files.
At a minimum, the scheme should be something like this:
Personal folders of users - full access only for the user whose folder
Public folder - purely for sharing, should be automatically cleaned once a day or week
Department folders - for storing information of departments / divisions. With a strict distinction - an ordinary salesperson should not get into the accounting docks or top admin personnel
Well
, based on the company's business processes
the user will not be asked for passwords and the distinctions will work
