SaaS platform for online store or CMS?

Good afternoon!
At the moment, the Internet is teeming with various "cloud" services for accounting, sales and accounting of goods, website designers.
I am interested in the designers of online stores.
I would like to hear about the experience of using such services, the pros and cons, who they are suitable for, whether they are suitable or not suitable for you and why.
Let's take some platform, get into it and see a bunch of modules, integrations, settings, and so on. It would seem that there is everything you need, but many tend to hire programmers and create bikes on open source engines.
After all, these platforms probably spent a lot of money researching customer needs, getting feedback and building their system in such a way as to cover the maximum number of customer needs. And if you still want to create "your own", then why? Is it worth trusting and imposing the business processes of an online store on the proposed solutions of cloud platforms, or is it still worth acquiring a programmer and doing everything on a turnkey basis?

In my opinion, the answer is simple - if the finished platform implements all your wishes, then use it, if not, then go ahead and cut your bike / scooter.

In order to understand and evaluate the possibilities - you need to have certain experience and knowledge. While they are not there, all systems are complex and incomprehensible, and always with a cursory examination there is 20% of what does not fit or is not done as we would like. If the system is chosen after the well-established and, according to the owners (possibly the director), optimal business processes, they try to fit it to the processes. and this is not always possible without losses, which many do not want. Self-written systems are normal, as well as cooking at home :), although no one cancels restaurants. True, often many do not think about the fact that the cost (namely the cost) of food cooked at home can be higher, and with systems, but since the costs are spread over time, they do not immediately pay attention to this.
Another factor is the lack of trust in consultants. because they often do not bear any responsibility for failures and poor implementation.

Wishlist will change and improve, because SaaS will not, as usual, have time to satisfy this with dice. Because CMS is better right away
