Running Virtualbox virtual machines on a VPS with a Windows server. Maybe?
Hello.
Task: Using virtualbox (guest OS will be windows) on VPS/VDS with windows server(2008 r2/2012 r2).
The hoster says that their virtualizations (KVM and openVZ) do not allow this.
Here https://habrahabr.ru/post/107471/ describes the process of installing windows on a VPS with Debian. Virtualization is Xen, and instead of virtualbox, the author used QEMU.
Does this mean that it will work from host Windows to Xen and QEMU?
With what virtualization can this be done?
As far as I understand, this is definitely possible on a dedicated server. Is this true and are there any conditions for Dedik?
PS: It turned out to set up the circuit empirically)
VPS on KVM, windows server 2012 r2. Installed windows XP on virtualbox as a guest. Tried first Debian 32bit, Ubuntu server 32. OS didn't boot. The hint was given by virtualbox, notifying that the current i686 OS is supported by the host processor.
