Running Gulp at the host, is it possible?

Perhaps my question will be extremely stupid, but who does not ask is even more stupid.
Now I'm doing the assembly locally, then the release via ftp is laid out on the hoster's server. Something like reg.ru standard rate.
Is it possible to launch and install node gulp npm bower directly from the host and run watchers directly on it.
In advance, please do not kick if the question is too stupid.

I don't understand why try to get the most out of shared when there are so many cheap VDS hosts out there.
For example, Ubuntu on the tariff for 250 rubles. in my profile it will fit under the average visits. You can install both node.js and Python and whatever your heart desires - Git, npm, bower.
