A router and a proxy are a poorly compatible thing (a hardware router is meant, of course). The proxy is a multi-gigabyte cache and oooooo multi-gigabyte logs. Use Synology - it has both a VPN and a proxy.

No iron router has detailed logging. To do this, you need to install a separate Syslog server.
