OM2/OM3 compatibility?

Colleagues, welcome.
Please help me to understand the following question:
An optical cable of type OM2 50/125 is laid between the floors in the building.
If I, in order to organize the connectivity of network equipment between floors, commute with patch cords of the OM3 50/125 type, should it still work? Or do you need OM2 patch cords?

you can connect, keep in mind that 10 gigabits will either not work over long distances or may be unstable
