RFID Reader for Windows 8 (Desktop)
I ordered this little animal on AliExpress:
USB RFID Contactless Proximity Security Sensor Smart Card Reader 125Khz EM4100.
Connected to the computer, the little animal squeaked, the red indicator lit up.
The system (Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit) itself found firewood, everything seems to be OK. However, it doesn't show up in device manager.
Installed GoGoTag - the program does not see the reader.
I tried to connect the device in Ubuntu. The device is physically connected, but the RFID Reader does not see it either. I made one more attempt - I connected it to a tablet on Android 4.0.2. I put different programs like NFC Test - to no avail.
The seller, the infection, does not answer questions about the software. Other buyers (brothers in misfortune) left several negative reviews in the sense that the piece of iron is raw - no firewood, no software.
Maybe someone stepped on this rake and found a solution?

This reader is for pass type cards. When connected, it must be defined as a HID device, i.e. when reading the card, its number will be transferred to the system as input from the keyboard.
NFC requires a different model, with a different frequency of operation.
