Restore JSS via Upwork support?

Hello,
Was just on a long-term contract, accepted an incoming offer on a topic in which he had never worked. In the correspondence I explained that I would try within an hour or two. The client sent an offer, I foolishly accepted it. After poking around the problem for a couple of hours, I realized that "the game is not worth the candle" (too voluminous topic, it takes a long time to enter). I am writing this to a client, like I'm sorry, I tried it - it didn't work, I don't need money. He closes the contract, requests funds for millstone, I'll approve. JSS dropped to 89% for a while.
Is it possible to restore JSS via support? When closing a long-term contract, JSS will only take it into account (i.e., half a year will pass, I will end the contract with good feedback)?

If I understood you correctly, you were just being stupid by accepting the offer too soon. Even if you approve the refund yourself, the client will leave you negative private feedback. Public feedback on such contracts does not exist, as far as I know.
About restoring JSS via support.
If you work long and hard on the exchange, sooner or later, if your hands grow from the right place, you will receive the Top Rated status. This badge allows you to remove one public review out of 10 entries. Let's say you work for 2 months, closed 9 contracts well, however, the 10th one goes with a terrible crash and the client leaves negative public feedback on it. In this case, you can write to support and ask to remove this bad, in your opinion, feedback. The guys generally delete any review (it doesn’t matter 2 stars there or 5, a canvas is written about how bad you are or just a comment in the spirit of a fucking asshole) that you don’t like, but only 1 out of 10, consider this moment. This will remove public feedback and it seems that private feedback will not be taken into account when calculating jss. However, You can still find this contract in your projects and payments history. Mentions of him disappear only from the public profile.
There are a lot of stories about jss going down or going up...
If you read the faq section, it will be written somewhere that two JSS values are considered - for the last 2 weeks and for 6 months, after which the maximum value is displayed. However, how exactly this JSS value is obtained is known for certain only to key employees of the exchange itself.
