Replacing RAM or adding the same bar?

Hello. I will try to correctly explain the essence of the issue. I am using a Samsung NP300V5A-S0NRU laptop. It has 1 stick of a-data technology RAM with a capacity of 2048MB (2GB) and a maximum bandwidth of pc3-10700 (667MHz). What should I do: add 1 more memory bar with identical performance and the same manufacturer, or change it to 1, but more powerful. I don't know much about hardware, so I need some advice. If the bar is the same, then it is not clear where to look for them? I looked on the Internet, they are no longer produced, and if another, more powerful one, I don’t know how it will work. I also wanted to know how much it would cost to clean a laptop and replace thermal paste? Thanks in advance.

@opium

if there is an additional slot, then you can insert a similar bar, the easiest way is to buy a boo on ebay.

(667MHz)
are you throwing it away!
Buy a new one for 4 GB at least 1333 Hz or 1600
, they cost about 2 thousand rubles 1 bar for 4 GB ..

It is not entirely clear what is meant by "more powerful".
If it's faster (for example, 800 MHz), then you need to see if the laptop supports it, if yes, and funds allow - it makes sense.
If we talk about volume, then if there are two memory slots, it is better to install a pair of identical ones, they will start working in dual-channel mode, which will be faster than one larger one.
In principle, if a laptop supports 800 MHz, you can buy a new one with a frequency of 800 MHz, paired with 667 MHz, it will drop to 667 MHz, and when a second faster one appears, it will start working at full speed.
