Removing unwanted components from Dualshock 3 controller board?
Background:
I needed a wireless bluetooth controller. The best option turned out to be the Dualshock 3 controller (from the PlayStation 3).
This controller has components that I don't need - two vibration motors and analog sticks. Without thinking twice, I cut off these components (I naively thought that it would work without them, since all the details are on the main board). But here's the problem - the controller stopped working. I believe that resistors must be placed between the broken contacts in order to "emulate" the presence of these components. I'm right? If yes, what is the best way to do it. If not, what else needs to be done.

The motors can simply be cut off, and in place of the sticks you need to put equivalent resistors
