Question - we are testing for one project. There is a task of launching the maximum number of VMs on one server. Server - HPE DL385, AMD EPYC 7301 processor. CentOS 7 operating system.

When I started 56 VMs on the server, the frequency per VM was about 560-600Mhz, the server CPU load was at 63%. Then I decided to check by adding another 10 VMs, as a result, the server CPU load remained at the same level, and the frequency per VM became about 400-450Mhz.

Why does the server load not grow above 63-65%?

We look at the specs of the processor 16 cores / 32 threads. Those. there are only 16 physical cores. physical cores do not become 2 times larger.
