Remote work as a system administrator. How relevant in 2017?

Good afternoon, for almost 10 years I have been working as a system administrator. Changed 4 companies on the rise. Now the administrator of the trading company - 700 users, about 100 tsisok, 45 servers, VMWARE + SAN. A lot of Linux, there are Windows of all stripes. Along the way, for the 5th year I have been running a web studio with five servers and a project with 50,000 visitors per day. I am a confident Linux administrator, I know networks, I do a little programming in PHP, Python, C#.
But the problem is that I'm tired of this corporate idiocy, F **** inadequate bosses who are fired after a year, corporate policies, regulations, orders, etc. Everywhere is the same.
I want to deal only with IT, administer cool projects, work, earn money. But the problem is that in my city this simply does not exist. Now my salary is 50 thousand and this is the ceiling for the region. Near Moscow - there is a lot of work, but moving is impossible, because. there is no point. After renting an apartment, the same will remain.
There is an idea to JOIN 2-3 companies to work remotely, even if you get a little more or even the same amount, but work and do what you like and get away from a stupid corporate party.
About me: I am responsible, sociable, always in touch, I solve problems quickly, I am not stupid, I rush to problems like a shark on a piece of meat. Ready to rent a small office and work in it, and at least hang a webcam online there ...
And now the questions:
1) Which companies are interested in this?
2) To what extent can we count on long-term cooperation?
3) Are there any crooks in this thread now?
4) How to present yourself
5) Do you strive for official employment?
Thank you!

engage only in IT, administer cool projects

statements, not that they contradict each other, but let's say so - orthogonal :) Cool projects happen only in large companies, because they require money, money and more money. And this is again corporate policies, regulations, orders ... But there will be only IT. If you stir up your business, you will have to deal with a zillon of "parallel" topics - from accounting to advertising.
If you want without regulations and corporate policies, open your own business. But there will be no cool projects there - at least at first. And there will be all the same corporate networks, only a side view, communication through TK. Large companies are only interested in a full-time admin, they usually do not consider any remote work.
And now the answers
1. Those who do not have money for the admin or save on the admin. Udalenka is something like a paired telephone in the USSR, when telephone pairs did not enter every apartment. The level of projects there will be appropriate. The level of the customer - too. The phrase "I brought the mouse to the edge of the rug, what should I do now"? - an anecdote, but taken from life :)
2. Collaborate with an equal. If you stir up your business, it depends on which one. gain a reputation. If not, what kind of collaboration?
3. Just like everywhere else - full.
4. If you stir up your business, read about PR. If not - about how to communicate with a potential employer
5. In a large office, where you can count on "cool projects" - this is the only way to get a job. If you stir up your business, you have employed yourself :)
I understand you in some way. Himself in this position was years ... uh ... ten years ago. But, if you want to do "only IT", this means that there are other people who do other things - calculating your salary, planning purchases, issuing work books, transporting goods, etc. And this can only be in a large company. By opening your own business, you get rid of the problems that are typical for large companies, but there will be no "pure IT" - whether you like it or not, but you will have to deal with accounting (or hire), financial planning (or hire), advertising and promotion (or hire), office rent (or hire). And if you hire someone, this automatically entails the execution of employment contracts (or hire) ...
An easy chair and a willing secretary to BigBoss are not just given as a bonus... :)

I recommend migrating to what is now called "DevOps engineers", there are a lot of vacancies for remote work, they pay well.

Get to Moscow.
It costs noticeably more than 50k + money for an apartment.
In general, you can try to develop this "programming a little" in yourself and try to get into this hype for developers.

And now the questions:
1) Which companies are interested in this?
What is this"? Remote admin, to whom are you not the only employer? None in particular. Small ones need someone on the spot, and it will cost no less than you at a distance. Large - the body should still be.
2) To what extent can we count on long-term cooperation?

Maybe something is wrong with you? In general, a person who successfully pulls what you wrote for 50k is cool. But since they break off relations, and they are unlikely to find someone cheaper and smarter, it’s probably about you.
5) Do you seek formal employment?
Not necessary. BUT! If the officials do not give, let them compensate for this with money at least a little higher than the market.

I want to deal only with IT, administer cool projects, work
This is for you in a large company - as a rule, no remote work, only office work.
Now, if you want to earn money, then go to freelancing, where the issue is resolved even with remote work, and you can earn as much as you like. But here you need to be able to earn money and look for customers. And no big cool projects with rare exceptions.
1) What companies are interested in it?
As a rule, those who do not have money for an employee in the office, with all the ensuing consequences, although there are rare exceptions.
To what extent can we count on long-term cooperation?
So are you talking about cooperation, or about working for a company?
3) Are there any crooks in this thread now?
Completely, as in other topics.
5) Do you seek formal employment?
If you work as an employee, then it’s not something that you need to strive for, but it’s simply the only possible option in which it’s generally worth going to work.

I see strange comments above. Even funny. At a distance, an enikey worker is not needed and uninteresting. For someone needs to change the cartridges and calm down the booms. For about 3 years, I have been managing loaded projects remotely. Not freelancing, but without official employment. I don't experience any inconvenience. If you need officialdom - you make an individual entrepreneur and provide services to the company. It's simple. Look IT offices, there are few classic users

new,
almost everyone wants long-term cooperation,
well, what kind of swindlers are there, you either get paid or not,
as a hell of a professional
, this is a question for you and not for us

If you really understand everything you write about, then your salary does not correspond to the level of competence at all. Here, either you know very superficially what you are writing about, or you do not value yourself. And given your words - "Moscow is nearby, it makes no sense", I will probably lean towards the first one, because. it reflects your way of thinking.

So what's the problem to improve knowledge and get a job as a web administrator? Administer a web server? The demand is there, and it is unlikely to fade away. In the future - to get a job remotely in the help desk of a hosting company, and then there are already free bread with a full hand, and own initiatives are possible.

IMHO the remote administrator is not interesting to anyone. It will be difficult to find. It's not a programmer.
You can only get a job administering cloud servers of offices, and then they will prefer a living person, because there are many admins, and other things being equal, it makes sense to take a remote worker.

Actual. Hosting, all sorts of clouds, and just fine-tuning with one-time orders. Full of work.
