Remote Desktop Connection

Good evening!

There is a server with Windows Server 2008 on board, it is located in the organization's local network and does not have an external ip.
Can I externally connect to a remote desktop without setting up a permanent static ip? I suppose dynamic dns will help me? However, in this way I will only connect to the router that distributes the Internet in the organization, but what should I do next? Or maybe I need a VPN?
Help, please, I'm kind of confused :)

You can, using, for example, the wonderful TeamViewer program.
True, because Server OS, you will have to purchase a commercial version.

In addition to DynDNS, which will help you connect without a permanent ip, you also need to configure the router to forward the port inside the local network, this is true for VPN and without it (RDP for example). With vpn to the server, the connection is preferable, as it is safer.

- Either forward port 3389 on the router (any other, if desired) to this server
- Or use logmein (no commercial versions are required)
- Or at the same hamachi office, but then you will need to install the component on the client.

I understand that you can't do without port forwarding in any case? I just somehow had an unpleasant experience with D-Link and NAT :( or will it do without it?

You know, I've been immersed in LogMeIn for half an evening now and I'm in such a pleasant surprise from him, in which I have not been from any service for a long time. The most important thing is that everything is accessible, simple and understandable for the client.

In some cases, it is possible to solve the problem by setting up/using a VPN server installed on some other machine (i.e. your win2k8 server will be a client), for example, in my semi-home VPN configuration, the 'home' network server is installed on my home router with with their IP, and several machines behind the firewall connect to it and thus unite into one network.
