Release of mail on the hosting, which occupies almost the entire space. How to transfer letters to a local computer and have access to them?

Good day. The question is how to transfer 40 GB of emails to a local computer. There are no issues with copying data from hosting. Difficulties arise when it becomes necessary to run all mailboxes (5 addresses) on a local computer and view the history of e-mail correspondence for the last 5 years. The essence of the question is as follows: how to simulate a mail server within the boundaries of a local computer and have access to letters downloaded from the hosting, thereby freeing up space on the hosting. In simple words, how to download letters from a hosting, be able to read them conveniently and have a content search, without being tied to a hosting?

Found a solution
installed Thunderbird, adding all the necessary addresses to the profile, turning on synchronization, turning on offline mode, thunderbird downloads all messages from the server, creates its own database of letters, I'm waiting. Copying a Thunderbird profile, installing it on an offline machine, uploading a profile with a database of letters. We eliminate letters from the hosting. Voila, an archival file of letters without being tied to the presence of a network!

outlook data file to the rescue. Letters are quietly transferred there from the server and stored where it is convenient.

You configure outlook on boxes that are necessary, you put a tick "to delete from the server". All mail on the server. But after the 50-box, everything starts to work very strange.)
