We really need practical advice on competent development. The problem is that projects that I develop for myself as a practice, which could bring real benefits not only to me, but everything works until I start to change or improve the project, incomprehensible glitches, crashes, etc. are constantly coming out, although I always try document and comment on the project, but it doesn’t help, after 3 days after the start I already start to forget what’s what.

"Clean Code" is sometimes controversial, but overall a very useful book for developing a neat writing style. Also read something about refactoring and unit tests.

Read more books, write code, try new technologies (DBMS, languages, etc.), experience will come.
