Tired that the microphone in the headphones is not audible, and the whole house is yelling.

Recommend an external "mixer" - to plug in headphones and a microphone, and connect the mixer to the microphone input and headphone output on your computer. Powered perfectly via USB.
It’s good that you can tweak the balance of the microphone and headphones for listening, and not “fill in” into the microphone, what goes into the headphones from the computer.
