Recommend an external hard drive with RAID 1

I choose a device for reliable storage of photo archives, etc.
Criteria:
- RAID 1 for reliability
- ease of use for the average user
- USB connection
- usable capacity from 750GB with RAID 1
- main system: Windows 7
- also desirable the ability to connect to a Mac with an installed driver for ntfs

While leaning towards WD My Book Studio Edition II .
Maybe there are better options?

Although, if you want to use it with a poppy in the future, it's better to wait for Thunderbolt solutions.
By the way, on a Mac, the iPhoto and iMovie libraries cannot be transferred to the desired directory. Therefore, backup only through Time Machine. Here you understand 750 - it will not be enough.

For reliability, active cooling of the array would not hurt. People, of course, go out of their way and screw fans to this WD, but this is somehow not kosher. Is USB important? And that is, a slightly outdated device , but quite justifying its money .
I have them at home - with an additional memory bar, it downloads torrents, a timemashine for poppy works and stores a home archive. And there's a whole park of them at work.
