Recommend a CMS

Need a lightweight and simple CMS for a small promo site. The site contains several static pages, a news feed, a gallery.

I here do not understand, what for for such tasks CMS? Take any micro-framework, at least Silex , it’s not a problem to fasten the news, galleries on jquery are more than enough. It will definitely work faster.

For simple sites, I used Frog CMS , but the maintainer disappeared, so I switched to a more recent and updated Wolf CMS fork . Statics, news - out of the box, gallery - plugin. Secretary friendly, easy to screw on design.

Recently a similar task arose (a simple site for a photo studio), modx stopped, in my opinion it is ideal in terms of simplicity / speed of development for simple sites

MODX Evolution. Let her not have a bunch of ready-made templates and other goodies, but she is given freedom of creativity. Templates are easy to stretch. A gallery with Ditto or EvoGallery is done in 10-15 minutes (moreover, stretching the gallery template takes longer). News feed - also through Ditto. In general, MODx Evo is a simple, as an ax, tsmska, which has good functionality and is ideal for such small sites.
I do not recommend MODx Revolution yet - it is still raw and more difficult to configure.

You don't need a CMS for such a site. The fastest way to do it is with wordpress and MODx.
