Rattling / noise when adjusting the volume on the amplifier. What to do?

I have a Technics amplifier, around the late 70s. The sound pleases, but when the volume is adjusted, there is often a rattle / noise / rustle. What are the main symptoms of this behavior, can it be fixed at home without special skills?
I recorded a video, but the noise is not as loud as usual.

Replacing the variable resistor of the volume control. The handle kakbe has nothing to do with it.
