Rational choice of path after graduation from school?
Now I am preparing for the exam. The choice of universities for admission is not large, either KubSU or Polytechnic University.
I was looking for guys and asked for feedback about universities. I can’t rely on the opinion of a couple of people, and they were released not so recently. Up to this point, I have studied programming (layout, python, Django) and try to study if time allows, but the exam and study eats a lot. I can say that I am a programming beginner, but I have a desire, I just do not have enough time. Sometimes I take simple freelance projects. The school does not give me anything now, I even have to prepare for the exam on my own, but this is not a problem. Learning on my own is much easier and better for me.
Now I am faced with the task - what to do after graduation? I ask questions: is it worth going to college for the sake of knowledge or just for the sake of crust, and if for the sake of knowledge, then which faculty should I study at, is it worth it for me to go to college at all, maybe I will lose 4 years in vain and become nobody, etc. ?
Thinking, thinking, I began to consider the option with a one year delay. After passing the exams, if they pass with a good score, then I remain waiting for a year before entering. During this year I study in my field; I study theoretical knowledge of programming, mathematics, physics; looking for good freelance projects based on my knowledge and experience; I create a portfolio I will consider admission, perhaps there will be an option with another university; I find time to rest) And then I go to university.
The question of not going to a university is probably leaning back, since the crust will be my safety net if freelancing becomes bad. I can’t know what awaits me in the future, so it’s better to go to a university, but is it worth going to it right away or is it better to take a year of delay to get ready?
Questions:
1. What will the university give me?
2. If someone studied in a cube or in a polytechnic, then I would like to hear your feedback about the university
3. What further plan is better to choose:
--- 1) Do not go to a university, study on your own and become a freelancer;
--- 2) Go to the university and immediately;
--- 3) Go to university, but in a year
4. What is your opinion about freelancing, what is in store for it in the future?

From the end: 4) Freelancing is not for beginners. It makes sense to go into freelancing after gaining a skill that is gained quite well in offline work on a profile, in a good team, with a good stack and adequate leads. After you are worth something as a specialist, it makes sense to go freelancing, and then, if you really couldn’t find better work offline. Well, or this style of work suits you right in all respects - you are a self-confident loner with excellent soft skills and conversational skills, with English that pulls to a level sufficient for a casual conversation on a free topic, well versed in your stack, from the general application architecture to code nuances. Such a #superloneprofiwolf with all hands and head.
3.1) Exactly by, you will be an eternal crook for a penny.
Freelancing experience is so... usually soft and brown, and most often not with a chocolate smell and taste... , but they are bases for that, that they need a lot more to build on top of them. But I don’t live in Russia at all ...
And about immediately or later - then it will be harder to integrate into this environment, part of the school course will already disappear, and the habit of doing something about studying will be lost. So if you go - immediately.
And yet - there is an option for distance learning, and you will get a crust, and you will be able to work according to your profile. Solid profit.

What is your opinion about freelancing, what is in store for it in the future?
Go to college right away. The university gives a good background and outlook.
Straight to college, of course. A university is not only knowledge and skills, but also acquaintances, and often friends for life in their professional environment. This is an opportunity to do science, if such a desire appears. Without crusts, many doors will be closed to you. These are not the doors that everyone sees. But if you quickly grow in the profession, you will run into them, sooner or later.
