Raid 10 from SSD + Raid 10 from HDD on one controller?
Good afternoon!
It is required to increase the performance of the disk subsystem on the server. I think to put 4 SSDs from Intel DC S3710 series (they are positioned as reliable and suitable for use under heavy load).
The OS + 3 1C bases on MS Sql will spin on the SSD.
On the HDD there will be a file washer and 1C backups.
That is, we actually get two separate RAID 10.
Please advise a raid controller (Adaptec, LSI) for this matter.
PS You can't put a separate server for file storage and backups, such a perversion :(
PPS And how does TRIM behave in the tenth raid of 4 SSDs? Google gives conflicting information about this

Why the tenth raid from SSD under skul? What do you want to achieve with this?
IMHO - absolutely useless, and even a little harmful.
Mirror for fault tolerance and everything will be fine.
TRIM is well behaved in any raid, as long as the controller supports it.
If the controller does not support it, then it does not lead in any way, because it does not exist.
PS I hope the backups are stored somewhere else than on this computer.
Just acquaintances asked in one place to look at the server with 1C, which is terribly slow from their words.
The situation on it is as follows - 3 1C bases are spinning, and in the file version. At the same time, the grid is 100 megabits and users with 1C work in terminal mode (Remote APP + characteristic printing problems due to a falling spooler in forwarded printers). The server contains the 10th raid from some ancient Hitachi Sata. The raid is assembled on the Adaptec "fake-raid" built into the Supermicro motherboard, which is not even monitored from the system by a proprietary utility :)
Some very smart "sysadmin" set up the whole thing :)
This horror slows down just terribly, the server is easier to bury and buy new.
The customer wants to get rid of the brakes and is ready to allocate an amount up to a million,
I think the translation of 1C to SQL, the withdrawal of users from the terminal mode and a normal server should solve the problem, or greatly reduce it.
PS There is no full-time system administrator. Management doesn't think it's needed...
PPS Curtain By and large, SSD performance across the entire disk subsystem is not needed, although the idea of CacheCade Pro 2.0 is quite interesting. I think to allocate a mirror raid from a pair of SSDs for 1C bases, and raid 10 - for file cleaning
