Questions to the virtualization service provider
Next week I'm going to the presentation of the Hyper-V booth at MS. What questions to ask that you have been interested in for a long time, and which I have no idea about, in order to protect myself in the future in case of an unforeseen situation?
For example, I'm interested in the issue of transferring virtual machines that have snapshots from host to host (outside the cluster). Is everything there as simple as in ESX, or are there some problems, as for example in VirtualBox?
There are some moments that you need to immediately drive away at the booth, and decide whether we are ready to put up with the features of the product or not?

Questions:
1) Does all operating systems and all software that is planned to be virtualized work and are officially supported on this platform?
2) If yes, how will the connection be made, for example: usb keys, tape libraries and other specific devices.
3) How is virtualization combined with existing backup and monitoring systems, or how is it planned to implement after the introduction of virtualization?
4) If you know the solutions of competitors well, you can directly ask - how is this solution better than analogues?
Ask them questions:
1) how to limit the traffic for the virtual machine
2) how to limit the number of IOPS for the virtual machine.
hint: neither is possible in hyper-v.
How will thick 10G network cards work, which will be promoted by Intel?
Let synthetics try to load Windows with 10G network card.
At the same time, test the work in conjunction with switches that have 24x1G + 2x10G
Will it be possible to snmp from the host machine data on the state of virtual machines?
If the average company wants to implement virtualization, then vSphere 4.1 Embedded Plus is a good fit.
For the price, the quality is quite suitable for SMB.
