Added this post to my favorites some time ago. The other day I tried to figure it out, but I could not find a layout ready for work. I tried to contact the author, but he did not answer.

Maybe someone took it on board? Share a ready-to-work document?

It’s trite for me - the date / time is substituted automatically at the time of entry into the database, then
the category (food, travel, child, animals, entertainment, etc.) a brief description and who entered it - me or my wife.
plus type - expense, income (salary category, yes for checking and filtering).
Zhenya posted an automatic form to a convenient URL (the form code from the Google site is saved in html)
analytics through unloading in excel.
I can fill out from the phone, but I go to work on foot, take lunch with me - I don’t spend money at all.
with planning (reserving) the dough for expenses in this option is more difficult, yes,
although from the reserves - a communal apartment, a telephone, the Internet, a loan - I still don’t know how to approach this, usually the reservation is made using the envelope method until the utility bill arrives.

Not advertising for the sake of it, try rubbish or toshl.com, I myself use the latter.
