Put ssd in mac mini instead of Serial ATA 5400?
I choose a poppy mini, there is a 1 TB Serial ATA 5400 rpm hard drive by default.
I want to buy a separate ssd from ebay and replace it. Will be cheaper. But immediately the question is, this disk is 3.5 inches, and the ssd is 2.5.
What difficulties will there be?

The mini disc is 2.5. So put it, no difficulties, except for a set of screwdrivers for disassembly. Yes, and in the minicar of 2012, in general, you can put 2 disks 2.5, just buy an additional cable and just deliver the ssd without throwing out the native one (it’s like this for me, in my native time machine backups and bold content), as in 2014 I’m not sure, maybe out of greed and the second the port for the disk was removed, but the disk is exactly 2.5.
Are you sure that your mac mini has a 3.5" disk? 3.5" hdd is the same size as the entire mac mini
After installing the system on an SSD in a poppy mini, it becomes just reactive, so this is the first thing to do, and you don’t need to throw out the second HDD)
I did it differently, I bought an external SSD drive with Thunderbolt so that I don’t buy screwdrivers, I don’t lose the warranty when disassembling and don’t take the official service, I put Yosemite on it, and I use a standard 5400 terabyte drive as storage. The system works with SSD, the speed is 3-4 times higher, there are no problems.
