Proxy tunnel

Hello.

There was a need to use a proxy to access some sites.

I bought a VPS from fastvps, installed squid on it, 2ip.ru shows that I'm in Germany, but I can't access sites prohibited on our page (Uzbekistan). For example, when entering ferghana.ru, it redirects to msn.com.

Apparently even before the proxy is determined where I'm trying to access.

I have not encountered such settings before and therefore I ask for advice or help from you!

Thanks in advance

UPD. Just discovered that this phenomenon is observed only in chrome. And in chrome, when checking in 2ip.ru, it says that I'm sitting behind a proxy, and when setting up other browsers, it says that the proxy is not used and I'm sitting in Germany, and the above site enters without any problems! What could be the problem?

UPD2. Even on archive.org does not go redirecting to msn

If you only need a proxy to access some sites, then I can recommend you the https://kebrum.com/ service . Provides VPN. There is a free test server. Using the test server is not limited by time, speed or traffic. There is no catch here: it's just that in the test version only http and https are available, if you need more, you have to pay.

The problem you have is the following, The request to the proxy server goes through the same http protocol. The request contains the address of the page that the proxy should download. The content filter at the provider analyzes the request and catches this address in the same way as without a proxy.
Therefore, you need a tunnel, and an encrypted one, just a SOCKS proxy will not work. Two options have already been named: SSH or VPN. If you raise an SSH tunnel, then you need to specify the browser as a socks5 proxy localhost and the local port of the tunnel. In the case of Chrome, this is not so simple, Google suggests here and there . Quip also supports socks5 proxy, create another tunnel for it. If you are using putty, you can save all settings in a profile and automate plink launch with this profile.
But I personally recommend all the same VPN. I see no reason why not to direct all traffic through the tunnel indiscriminately. Your content filter probably analyzes all traffic, including email (without https). And don't forget about DNS traffic, it also contains the addresses of all the sites you visit. It would also be nice to let him through the tunnel. For example, in Firefox, this can be done with a separate setting, and by default, DNS queries do not go through a proxy. As in Chrome I do not know, dig.
