DDoS Protection

Protection against ddos using standard ISP control panel tools?

In the ISP manager panel , in the WWW domains tab (when selecting a domain), there is an option Enable DDoS protection (Enable DDoS protection using nginx mod_limit_req). When DDoS protection is enabled, any IP address will be blocked. The IP address is blocked for 5 minutes on all ports. This option is ddos protection for a specific site (of which there may be many on the server).
When this option is enabled, the parameters that need to be filled in appear:

  • Number of requests per second from one IP address
  • Max splash size

Can you please tell me the most optimal values for the number of requests and the size of the burst? The values must be convincing so that it does not accidentally work on visitors, but only if a ddos attack has probably started.

This is set depending on the site.
Hire an admin, because different pages of the site need different limits. This is not done all under one brush.

Nevertheless, there are minimum values for these settings so as not to slow down search engine robots. If anyone knows, please write. If you do not know, do not write: "ask someone who knows"))) or search the Internet. This topic comes up first in a search, so it's logical for a reasonable answer to be here.
