Programs on elementary?

That's the question, can all programs installed on Ubuntu be installed on elementary? It seems that Linux is both, as I understand it.

Linux is not an operating system, but the kernel on which many operating systems, called distributions, are based. They may be similar and compatible, or they may be completely different. The only thing that will unite such Linux-based operating systems is the utilities included in the standard distribution of the kernel. For example top. Or ls. It happens that the development of a distribution kit develops in different directions-branches. Such branches are called forks. Mint is a fork of Ubuntu. And ubuntu, in turn, is a fork of debian. In order to roughly assess the compatibility of a particular package, you need to take an interest in the history and origin of the distribution. For example, Ubuntu packages usually get up to mint without any problems. And redhatovskie on Fedora. Elementary OS is a fork of Ubuntu, so most likely many Ubuntu packages will install on it without any problems.

Well, if the developers themselves didn’t break anything, then yes.
