Programming under Windows Mobile 6.x
I understand that the topic is old, but it became interesting for me to write something for the device that I have.
I don't know much about C++, I don't really know C#, but as far as I'm concerned, the latter is higher level and should be easier to learn.
Problem with textbooks. There are a lot of them in the C# language itself, but there are very few about writing programs for WM.
And nothing I've gotten about WM programming is suitable material.
Shackles G. - Mobile Development with C# - talks about some kind of multi-platform Mono framework that I don't need
Wigley E., Mot D., Foote P. Microsoft Mobile and .Net Compact Framework. Developer's guide.Master class- a book comparing net compact 1st and 2nd versions, extremely incomprehensible to someone who is trying to figure it out from scratch
A. Klimov - Programming for mobile devices running Windows Mobile (Programmer's Library) - suffers from missing key points. “We need to create a button, and then write such a code” - but how to create, where, with what - is not written.
Krell B. - Windows Mobile. Development of applications for PDAs - very detailed, but so confused and incoherent that it's a shame; plus it uses C++, which is too hardcore.
I.Salmre — Programming mobile devices on the Net Compact Framework- a terribly lengthy book, some downright philosophical, about how to prepare for the development of a project, in what position to sit and what to eat, but in fact there is nothing there.
There are 7 examples in the WM SDK in C#, they did not help. MSDN is a reference, not a tutorial.
In general, although the question is outdated, maybe someone remembers and will tell you if there is intelligible documentation on writing programs for wm6?

At one time I studied this topic quite closely, but I didn’t find anything better than codeproject for studying. Wrote under WM 5/6 in C++/MFC and C#/.NET CF, searched for materials bit by bit on the net.
Alas, I didn't find a good book. And there are enough examples on codeproject.
