Zero Assumption Recovery . Formatted the screw 2 times. Restored 90% of the information.
Something I do not like this proprietary tone. Free software doesn't have to be worse. And very often it turns out that they are better.
1) try TestDisk
2) free ones are obviously weaker than commercial ones in this situation
There was a situation when it was necessary to recover data (20 files, urgently), there was no Internet at hand, but there was GetDataBack (an excellent utility), a demo version. It does not allow you to save recovered files, but it does allow you to view them. Bypassed it quite simply - I found a temporary folder where the opened files were saved and after clicking on the preview I picked them out of this folder :)
Since the format of the recoverable data (video) itself is initially known,
you can try to make a RAW image of the disk, and then search for video fragments by characteristic signatures. If the drive in the DVR was not originally formatted in NTFS, then it will be even easier to pull it out of FAT.
If only the partitions were demolished, you can try the testdisk program. But if a quick format was carried out, then I don’t know if it will help. Most likely, you will have to connect heavy artillery to search for files on the disk.
I can vouch for R-Studio.
