Processor for the build server?

We select the configuration for the new build server in the office.
It will spin virtual machines in Hyper-V or ESXi, which, in turn, will already have cc.net, VS, and so on.
About 5-10 projects can be assembled at the same time.
Does it make sense to take, say, 2xXeon x5680 or will it not give an adequate performance boost?

And why don't you want to take a server on some AMD6100 series, religion?
... It's
not a fact that the next Xeon series (which will replace the 56x series), but the fact that the new multi-core Bulldozers will be compatible with the current 6100 series processors is for sure ...

I haven't seen specific benchmarks, but in my opinion, it seems that there will be an increase compared to the i7, but hardly compared to the 4-headed zeon.
Here, however, there is also a bunch of more complex questions :)
1. What do you think is an adequate increase?
2. And on what specific operations?
One virtualka will twist some kind of DBMS, the other - a number crusher. The first increase is 0 whole tenths, the second - as much as 10%.

And try to rent a real server, for example, in Softlayer. You can put all the virtual machines there and check how fast your calculations will go. Based on this data, you will be able to choose a server for purchase. Or rent more.
