Process data from DBF in MS Excel (LO Calc?)

Approximately once a month the DBF database crashes, with some data, based on which you need to create a set of reports. At the moment, I have a C# program working for this good deed that opens DBF, removes certain data, and saves everything in CSV, it would seem that everything works fine, but I would like a more beautiful solution. Namely, I want to know which way to dig, and what to read, in order to understand how to make a program with a button that selects a file and with a second “Make it good” button, when you click on it, Excel opens and tables are already compiled in it. In the presence of some knowledge of c #, there is also MS VS2012Pro, from MS Office2013 and LibreOffice office suites.

If you still run Excel and you need to build tables in it, then why not use a regular VB macro?

Install an ODBC DBF driver and link data from DBF to Excel directly.
ODBC is tuned to a specific file, in the future it will be possible to simply put an update on this place.
