Problems with eGPU EXP GDC NGFF settings. Any ideas to fix the incomplete work?
Purchased eGPU EXP GDC connected via NGFF (WiFi slot). Everything is defined perfectly in any of the modes without any shamanism with a tambourine (uefi\secureboot\legacymode etc.), but as usual there are a couple of "buts":
1) the video card is connected only via PCIe 3.0 x1 (although x2 support is in the specifications dock)
2) the video card turns off in any 3D mode
My ideas:
- for the first problem, the laptop slot may not support the x2 interface, but it is unlikely because the laptop is very new and there was a wi-fi + BT card with ac mode and speeds of 1300 Mbps +. I don't know how to check.
- according to the second problem, my idea is that the power supply (550 watts, china) goes into protection when one line is overloaded - the so-called "load skew" (the rest of the lines are not involved and the vidyuha can eat up to 200 watts)
Hardware: Dell xps 15 9550, i7 -6700hq, plug-in video AMD HD 7950 OC (so far I took the old one for the test, if it starts on x2 I thought it would be more powerful to buy).
The desktop, video rendering load the processor of the video card by no more than 30%, and when you turn on any 3D, a black screen and a laptop hang.
I will be grateful for any ideas.
