Problem with installing Windows 8 64bit Developer on a virtual machine
I will not tell the background of the installation, since it is too long, I will just say that I have already spent about 12 hours of time.
The current problem is this: when starting the installer, it gives an error that there are no CD / DVD drivers.
After the thought came that, perhaps, the current version is normally installed with SATA drives (PATA is created in virtualbox by default), I decided to change the settings. But the installer did not start at all, everything froze at the step of downloading it:
- Installed from under Win7 64
- Through VirtualBox 4.1.2
- Image: WindowsDeveloperPreview-64bit-English-Developer (that is, with development tools, did not check for others)
What could be the problem? Maybe somewhere you can take an image of a floppy disk with the notorious drivers and which is mounted in VirtualBox (honestly, I searched, but did not find it)?

Connect the CD/DVD drive to the IDE controller. Will work.
Does it look like the work instructions ? Not quite on the topic, but maybe it's easier to download and install VMware? I posted it in 15 minutes without any problems (the main thing is to choose the OS installation later, and not specify the ISO when creating the VM).
Installed on VirtualBox under Mac OS X 10.7. Earned without problems.
During installation, I chose that I put "Windows 7"
Win7 x64, VirualBox 4.0.12, got up without any problems at all. Indicated that it was "Windows 7 64bit", gave a gig of memory, 50 GB of disk space. Didn't change anything.
