Powering a laptop with increased voltage, is it possible?

We safely lost our original power adapter from an HP laptop. The laptop shows such specifications 18.5V and 3.5A.
There is an adapter from another HP with 19V and 3.16A specifications.
Is it possible to power a laptop from it and what are the consequences?
