Hello, I want to try polyphasic sleep ( Polyphasic sleep ). I

already tried a similar regimen in winter, I liked it, there seemed to be no side effects, I feel great.
But maybe I missed something? what do you think about this?

PS: I consulted with a doctor, you can’t go in for sports, you can’t drink energy drinks, but no more warnings.

How do we know if you missed something or not? Yes, such a method of sleep exists, yes, some people practice it, yes, they claim that they feel great, at the same time. What answer are you waiting for?
Here is Peacock 's blog, about polyphasic sleep, and here about biphasic , to which he came after polyphasic.
Personally, my opinion is that trying to find extra time at the expense of reducing sleep is not a good idea. Time, all the same, will not be enough, and the consequences of such experiences can be hidden at first and revealed much later. Health is not the best resource to trade.

There was a time when I could sleep how I wanted. Experimented, I don't want to take it.
My resume, for me personally. It is best to sleep at night for 5-6 hours, at the optimum time, get up in the morning.
During the day, you can afford to sleep once or twice for 20-30 minutes.
Sometimes, before mentally hard work, when I'm already tired, after 17, even sitting, I close my eyes for 15 minutes. Something between sleep and wakefulness.
You get up, you feel like Windows, which has just been rebooted, but no autostarts have started yet. Cheerfulness and an hour of intensive work are guaranteed.
Also, for the drowsy (like me), avoid fluctuations in blood sugar. Cola is delicious and invigorates (tasty and cold), but then the sugar will drop sharply, and this is drowsiness.

Brad is everything. You need to sleep at night. And you get better sleep, and the schedule does not suffer. And there are no problems for the body. 23-7:00 and no problems (plus or minus 2 hours).
PS: I am nevertheless interested in what kind of dream this is - 30 minutes. It takes me at least 40 minutes just to fall asleep

And I also read an article about a man who slept for half an hour a day and had nothing to do and learned Chinese. Are there scientific studies on this topic?

If combined with inappropriate activities and rest, then in a week or two there may be a recovery period for a month with more sleep than usual and a lowered mood. Such a mode is not at all suitable for an average way of life; it should be used to solve some specific problems for a certain period of time.

One thing is for sure: wrong and insufficient sleep accelerates the aging of the brain. Just remember the logical chain:
nerve cells do not divide
> decay products accumulate in nerve cells during the day
> decay products inhibit the functioning of the cell
> during sleep, intensive cellular metabolism occurs, decay products are washed out
= improper sleep patterns lead to dysfunction of nerve cells.
Sleep is the most important regenerative process of the body, the key to a long and sensible life. And by the way, the brain is also responsible for the functioning of vegetative processes in the body, so when a person does not sleep for a long time, in general, homeostasis is disturbed, which affects the heart, breathing, digestion, immunity ...
PS Ideal traditional sleep schedule: 8 hours in the dark, go to bed before midnight. You can google "sleep hygiene".
