PoE ports in the switch

Good afternoon. When using a gigabit switch with PoE ports, what happens if you plug a cable into the PoE port from equipment that does not require PoE? Will it work? If so, at what speed?

I don't have a switch yet, I'm just planning a network.

Don't listen to bullshit.
Nothing bad will happen. All PoE standards check to see if a connected device needs power. If not, no power will be supplied and the port will function as a normal, unremarkable gigabit port.
Well, in modern implementations, power goes through the same veins that data goes through.

With poe ports, electricity is supplied to part of the cores for power, I would not stick non-poe equipment into them, most likely the port will burn out.
