Play keyboard (spacebar) in system tray without forms?

Hi all.
In C# experience 0, there is a need/desire to write a script that will hang in the tray and listen for example to the "space" key.
I wrote a program that hangs in the tray (notifyIcon) and has the necessary options for me, but then the problem is:
All the tutorials that I found are designed for use in forms, which I don’t have in this case.
Can you please tell me how to accomplish the above task? I will be additionally grateful for resources and / or pieces of code. :)
