php5.6 compilation error on freebsd 8.4. Where can I get libiconv.la?

I'm trying to install PHP5.6 on freebsd8.4 and getting an error while compiling. Where can I get the missing libiconv.la?

libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/local/lib/libiconv.la' or unhandled argument `/usr/local/lib/libiconv.la'
*** Error code 1
