Permissions not changing?

On one of the folders I needed, I once set the access rights to "x". And I completely forgot about it ... I recently reinstalled Win and I needed data from this folder, but now I can't get the access rights back. I change it to 777 and it doesn't save((
How can I tell FileZill'e that I'm the owner now?
