PC configuration. For coding and gaming at the same time. Is it possible to?
Now my main computer is a 2012 MacBook Pro - an old, rather slow laptop, it is not very comfortable to work on it, you can only play Left 4 Dead. And at work there is a cheap office PC with Ubuntu on board.
I'm leaving in a week. I want to look for remote work or try freelancing. Therefore, the question arose of buying a normal PC for doing frontend. I also want to play, so the PC must be powerful.
I plan to take the optimal assembly as a basis . I need advice on what to change in this assembly for my needs.
- I prefer to work with code under Linux, I really like Fedora, but front-end work requires constant interaction with Photoshop. Therefore, I will work on two OSes at the same time, which means that one of them must be run under a virtual machine. And since I also plan to play, Fedora will go to the virtual machine, and Windows 10 will be the main one. Hence two questions. Should I take more RAM - not 16, but 32 GB. And is it worth getting a more powerful processor? So that when the virtual machine is running, both OSes work smartly.
- Quantity and quality of monitors. For work, the bare minimum is two FullHD 16:9 monitors. Better three (photoshop/browser/code). For games, 2 monitors are not an option at all (exactly in the middle of the stage then there will be a junction of monitors). Three monitors is good. But it’s better to have one 21:9 34 "monitor with GSync. I'm at a dead end here. You can take three regular monitors or one 21:9, but not all at once. Maybe there are some other configuration options? What would you do? Maybe one 21:9 and one 16:9? But then it is not very convenient to change the size of the windows on one monitor to fit several windows and the question arises of placing such an option on the table.
- Also on the question of multiple monitors. Can I work under virtual machine on multiple monitors or is this not an option (technically under some VirtualBox is this possible or not)?

1. Concerning assembly. A 128GB SSD is definitely not enough. And it's also better to take i7
Some photoshop will eat 50 gigs for the cache, a couple of games will take another 40 and then the place will end. If it comes to playing on three monitors (i.e., there is money), then it's better to take 500GB. Want to code for iOS? Welcome to the virtual machine, and here you need a place and speed (i7)
2. Play on three monitors - lose fps. I myself play on one of the two: on one monitor I play, on the other I stream or watch procrastinating content.
3. You need at least two monitors to work. I would take two DELL'a on 2560*xxx and be limited to it. It is difficult to find a compromise between monitors for gaming and for work.
