Patenting?

Hello.
There is such a question (although I'm not sure that it belongs to IT).
A certain control panel was written. It has different functions, methods of interaction, etc., respectively. Everything that is in it needs to be patented in order to “defend” so to speak.
I don't know anything about this at all, so I'm asking for some trusted links + a little question: if these functions that I patented are found by others (no matter who), what can I do?

I don't think it's worth patenting software like an apple.

It is better to consult with an intellectual property lawyer in your country - the laws are different everywhere, incl. patent law.

No, it's better not to suffer... Just work.
