Patent the idea of the site. Really?
Hello. I have an idea for a website. The site provides information on a specific topic, there are many such sites, but the idea of my site is different in that it is based on prompt notification of new information. The information is relevant for a limited amount of time, so I think that the site will be very popular. And there is no such thing in its pure form yet. *Sorry for being so vague.
And now the question is, is it possible to somehow patent it? (More than sure the idea will go to the masses and then such functionality will appear on other sites) As far as I understand, the idea cannot be patented without the site itself. And if the site is ready, will it be possible to do it? How hemorrhoids, a lot of time, money?
Can I somehow protect my idea from being stolen when contacting a freelancer / development team to create this site?

I think you do not need to deal with patents. You just enter into a “non-disclosure agreement, etc.” with the performers ...
according to Article 4.3 of the Patent Law of the Russian Federation, the following inventions are not recognized as patentable:
- scientific theories and mathematical methods;
- methods of organization and management of the economy;
— conventions, schedules, rules;
- methods for performing mental operations;
— algorithms and programs for computers;
— projects and planning schemes for structures, buildings, territories;
- decisions relating only to the appearance of products aimed at satisfying aesthetic needs;
- topology of integrated circuits;
— varieties of plants and breeds of animals;
- decisions that are contrary to the public interest, the principles of humanity and morality.
unlikely, besides, they have already trumpeted here 1000 times that the idea is worthless
You can patent functionality, implementation, design, but I doubt the idea.
Lots of hemorrhoids. My father wanted to patent the equipment and eventually spat. It's not worth the trouble. Yes, and it takes a very long time to do this.
First, you can't patent an idea. How can you patent the algorithm of your site. Only specific implementations are patented.
Secondly, if the idea is really worthwhile, and you create a website that you then patent in Russia, then other people can get ahead of you and, having stolen the idea, make a website and patent it in another country.
Ideas by themselves are worthless. I had a chance to work with some guys who had a super-idea. People were delighted with the idea, people invested decent money in the project almost for thanks. We made a website, fork well. Zababahali, without hesitation, 280,000 rubles for copyright, some domains were bought for 30,000 rubles. Launched. And reality has shown that the idea, pardon the bluntness, is outright bullshit, and the implementation is generally PPC. Although before that, not a single person could have imagined serious problems or inconsistencies in the idea of the project.
Moral: if it seems to you that you have an idea for a million, it is better to finish the project first, see how the project goes, invest in promotion. If the site has prospects, you will understand this before competitors. Then patent it.
In which country will you patent? You need to start all the same with one country + each subsequent one is again loot - your loot and not you.
And do you have money and time for this (a lot of money and a lot of time)? Sometimes a patent application can be processed for more than a year.
And is there any assumption about what you will do with this patent later - that is, how will you recoup the investment? Maybe you have a minus million idea. But if you want to patent in Ukraine, I can help (there is a patent attorney), but again, this is a very expensive and long-term pleasure, from which it will be very difficult for you to benefit. And if there is at least some doubt that you really need a patent, then you should not spend money on it.
